GUIDE
How do I download a public iCloud album as a ZIP?
Someone sends an iCloud album share link. You want the whole set offline—not one “Save Image” click at a time in the browser. Say the boundary first: this is content on a public share link, not “log into someone’s private library and take whatever.” Tour-group albums, event gallery links, family albums opened for sharing—those are the typical cases.
Sharezip has a narrow job: pack photos from a public iCloud album share link into a ZIP (Download Public iCloud Albums as ZIP).
1. Share link ≠ logged-in private library
Public share: the owner turned sharing on, you have the link, and you can view photos under that permission.
Private library: needs an Apple account and matching access. A share page that demands login—or never opens without it—is not the public-share case.
Sharezip handles the first. It is not a private iCloud library downloader. It does not walk a “bypass password / crack a private album” path—and this page does not provide or hint at any such approach.
2. What Sharezip does: public album share → ZIP
Paste a valid public iCloud album share link. Pack the photos you are allowed to access on that link into a ZIP for backup or later cleanup.
It is packing convenience. It does not replace Apple’s official apps or system download/sync flows. Keep using official clients for what they do well. Sharezip fills “public link → one ZIP” tidy-up. Support: [email protected].
Indie builders and freelancers get these links after events and client selects. Saving fifty frames by hand is how afternoons disappear. One ZIP from a share you can already open is the point.
Keep expectations honest: if the share never opened for you in a normal browser, Sharezip will not invent access. The product packs what a public link already lets you see. That is the whole pitch—and the hard stop.
3. Paste link → pack (follow live UI)
- 1. Open Sharezip.
- 2. Paste the public album share link.
- 3. Follow the live page to pack and download the ZIP.
Button labels follow the live UI. This guide does not invent an unverified click-by-click script.
Before you paste, open the share in a private/incognito window while logged out of Apple. If the album does not browse, a packer will not invent access for you.
4. Boundaries: login-required, revoked, expired
- - Content that requires an Apple login to view.
- - Insufficient permission, invite-only, or a link that was closed / expired.
- - Albums you are not allowed to access—do not try, and do not expect a download.
On failure, return to the share page first: can an incognito, logged-out browser open it? If not, the pack tool cannot help. If the link opens then dies mid-way, that is the sharer’s permission and link state—not a cue to “retry harder” as if retries were a workaround. They are not.
5. After download: Heiclocal / Metastrip / Stampdrop
ZIPs from phone albums often contain HEIC or location-tagged shots:
- - Convert for wider compatibility: Heiclocal · batch HEIC to JPG
- - Strip GPS/EXIF: Metastrip · batch-strip metadata
- - Watermark against casual reuse: Stampdrop · free batch watermarks
Batch-save framing for event/client galleries: batch-save from an iCloud share. Public vs private boundaries in one place: public vs private iCloud download.
Download the ZIP first. Then convert, strip, or stamp as needed. That beats clicking through the share page one frame at a time.
When you archive the ZIP, note the share date and who sent the link in a side text file. Later you can confirm you still had permission when you packed. Do not store Apple passwords—Sharezip never asks for them, and you should not collect them “just in case.”
FAQ
Do I need an Apple login? Aimed at public shares—not a private-library tool. This product does not guide you to log into someone else’s private library through Sharezip.
Does it store Apple passwords? Never asks. Public-link packing is not a “hand over your Apple password” model.
Someone’s private album? Do not expect it. Only when the owner enabled a public share and the link still works.
vs official download? Convenience for public links only. Not a replacement for Apple’s official clients.
