GUIDE

After the iCloud ZIP, how do I tidy HEIC before delivery?

After you pack a public iCloud album into a ZIP, a common cleanup order is: unzip → convert HEIC with Heiclocal → optionally strip with Metastrip → optionally watermark with Stampdrop → then deliver or archive. The boundary stays the same: only public share links belong in Sharezip.

Packing overview: public album ZIP. Public vs private: SZ-3. Failures: ZIP failed or slow.

1. Why ZIPs often contain HEIC

iPhone captures often land as HEIC. Windows machines, older apps, or JPG-only delivery specs struggle with that. Convert to a common format before strip/stamp to cut rework.

2. Recommended pipeline (product boundaries)

  1. 1. Sharezip: public share link → ZIP.
  2. 2. Heiclocal: batch HEIC → JPG/PNG (local convert per live product).
  3. 3. Optional Metastrip: strip GPS/common metadata before outbound send.
  4. 4. Optional Stampdrop: proof or brand marks.

On each tool’s local main path, you do not upload originals to that product’s servers just to finish the step—per each site’s own copy. Support: [email protected].

3. When to skip a step

Event/client batch-save framing: SZ-2.

4. Spot-checks
